Did I mention it's January?!

New in Town
Today I walked a short trail on Coote's Paradise and this nice bike trail. Time to Coote's from my campus building? 10 min cycling casually. Time to home along this gorgeous trail including stopping for these photos? 35min cycling casually. Rad? Rad!
Armageddon 2012
Winnipeg Bombs Guamilton: A travelogue in point form with pictures!
Part 1: Git 'er Gone
"Outskirts of Winnipeg by 1pm. Slept in by accident, no alarm, big hangover. Too much stuff, had to rent trailer. Dude with bad tattoos gave us a free "jaw arm" for the hitch; his last day with U-Haul. Rad.
Missed turnoff for Fermor Ave. because we were oggling a thrash punk dude. Sissy pulled a sweet U-turn.
Twiggy shat my sweater. Birds are good. Spider's cold."
"Fun at the gas station," but Brianna has the photos. Super kitsch.
"Listened to Sabbath, Smiths, and Brianna's Winter Wedding mix tape. Sun's gon' down."
Part 2: Night Danger
"Almost hit two (young?) moose on the highway. One ran off the road right after I woke to the van slamming on the breaks and Brianna making a scared noise. The other turned too quickly and started slipping on the ice. Would have been comical if it hadn't been terrifying. Van stopped about 3' from moose.
I took over driving and drove through intense fog for too long. Tried to check in at the Valhalla Inn (!!) but too expensive.
Now at Crossroads Inn for a bit less - shower warm. Birds flew around a little, everyone O.K. Twigga please (as he's now called, thanks to Sissy) has shit on his paws but really wants to cuddle. I don't give a fuck. Dead to the world, I'll cuddle that shit."
Jan 6, 2012 - Don't Forget!
Dark Breakfast - Questionable Picnic
A) Crunk Hustlin'
B) Eat Fuck, Continental!
Part 3: Grim Mornings
"What the fuck? Ate continental breakfast. Waffle maker. Bagels. Bad coffee.
Drove from T. Bay to Wawa, now I'm chillin' in the back. So many sweet tape jams. I put x-rays in the tape deck by mistake, but it's okay now. I got 'em out. Twiggy is more chill.
Open water. Not too much snows. Gorgeous scenery. Just passed L. Superior.
Gas fuckin' expensive. Sick. Sore. Feel like shit."
"Grim day. Overcast, slushy, hilly, tree-y. Saw northern lights near Valhalla Inn last night. Rad. Sweet e-mail from ST last night. What is Hamilton? Want to have bike journeys. Bri and Sissy saw a raven eating a dead wolf on the side of the hwy. I was asleep.
Opened my eyes to a gorgeous deep pink sunset over the great lakes. Dunno which lake. Opened my eyes to a raven flying low and steady across said landscape. Beautiful."
Part 4: Exhaustion Marathon in the Concrete Wilderness
"Guelph at 4am. Slept hard. Cold sweats. Fuckin' sick. Twigs was real good. Mad cuddles.
Slept in. B-fast at Apollo 11. Gross. 1/2 beer, 2 coffees, omelet, bad taters, feel better.
En-route to Hamilton ~2pm.
Drove last night from T-bay to Wawa. Then Sissy to Estaire. Me fr. there to Parry (Party) Sound and then further to Barrie. Then Sissy to Guelph. From Barrie I passed out so hard. I felt fucked. Whole body pain."
Part 5: And Then There were Two (on their last leg):
Sissy's best joke: "Yesterday Twigs was upset, but today he's no-mad." Sissy please!
Sunny warm morning, almost no snow. Now the clouds are thick and nice. Cumulous. Just in time for Hamilton. Listening to the Clash (Rockin' the Cara-van).
